Fans of the TV show Ace of Cakes rejoice! The book that you dreamed is cooked to perfection and ready to serve. But if you're not a fan or have never seen the show, you're still a delicious treat. Meet the chef Duff Goldman and his collaborators which is the group that is like a family and works at Charm City Cakes, and all part of the crew gets things cooking on the Ace of Cakes show. They come together in this wonderful book that is prepared more like a work of art / novel, a cookbook that - like the show is more documentary than reality TV type.
What you get in the book is information on each of the talented people who are on the show that compose the always creative, often wacky, cake artists group. Duff's younger brother Jeff have created a book that could resemble it belongs to the kitchen but the wind is more than likely on a coffee table somewhere to be read and shared quite often.
The same love what they do on the show is evident in the book. Filled with color photographs, you get to meet each member of the show as they are all talented such a team, each with a unique talent which has resulted in the cake decorating business. Each person has a section on their own what their own experience, it's like to Charm City Cakes and the show. They tell how they came to be in the field of cake design. Hundreds photographic coverage of the bakery and cake and some of their valuable customers. The pictures are smaller than you would expect but I am sure it was because they had so they wanted to share. It is more than just pictures that make this book so unique. The history of Charm City Cakes and those comprising the company and the show are the real stars here. Yes, this is a book, you drool over, but you can also read with interest and pleasure, especially if you're already a fan of the series. If you're not, it is my guess you will be soon.
With each member of staff at Charm City Cakes write about themselves, they also have each created a special cake for this book. Cooking and decorating Advice is also incredible and irreverent humor to find you the right feeling of the artistic, creative and relaxed atmosphere show and his boss. This is a book, you return to repeatedly read and watch. I found a lot of fun, filled with many interesting stories on the creative staff, and most amazingly decorated cakes we ever find anywhere. If you are not enchanted by this group Charm City Cake and his boss, Chief Duff, then obviously this is not your cup of tea, or say, your piece of cake. But the more likely you will enjoy the cake, stories and pictures .... there is something for everyone in this - yum!
