A few years ago, I attended a Chamber of Commerce event in a large auditorium. 5 speakers were on stage and during the program, the amplification system crashed. The result was that the five speakers are not able to be heard in the back of the room. So, first, those of us who were not in "earshot" sitting quietly. It was not long, however, before the back of the room took on a noise level of its own with people hanging documents, clearing the throat, get up and leave, and some are even beginning conversations between them.
If others are not able to hear when you talk to an event, sitting at a conference table, or holding a sales conference, they will stop trying to hear you. Difficulty hearing gets tiring and frustrating which can lead loss of activity for you.
It is your responsibility - it is your responsibility to make yourself heard if you talk. Whatever the occasion, whatever reason, you choose to open your mouth and reviews, present, or engage in a dialogue, you must speak to a level normal volume if you want to be understood. If the occasion calls for more volume, then it is your responsibility to learn to speak with more power.
In the situation of the Chamber of Commerce event, it was the responsibility of stakeholders to increase their volume beyond a volume level normal so that everyone present could hear. Unfortunately, they did not know that for many in the room, their words are without effect. Even when commotion began to arise in the back of the room, the 5 speakers did not know that their words were not very far.
Have you ever tried talk to someone in another room of your Home without increasing your volume? It usually does not work. (A high nasal voice certainly will - unfortunately, a loud nose is not pleasant to hear!) One of the biggest problems I encounter with my clients is that they do not know not how to increase their volume properly.
Trying to "raise the tone" will only hurt your folds of the throat and voice (strings). Learn to project your voice, However, the problem will be solved. The projection is the ability of the power of your voice from your chest instead of your throat, your voice, your mouth, and / or your nose. The resulting sound is warmer, richer, deeper and more resonant. This also means that you can cheer for your favorite sports team, without losing your voice!
Without a vote, most of us in business have no business. Without a voice can be heard, most of us in business have no business. If you want others to listen, they must first be able to hear you.
