There are two things intruders do not like - noise and light.
First, it is difficult for them to hear approaching people, and demonstrates how convincingly for mounting internal siren (sound bombs) in the alarm systems. It is still a topic for another day.

Switched lighting PIR
A PIR or passive infra red lights up when the body heat movement is detected. Thus, it can detect humans but also animals such as cats on the rise. The most popular form of lighting built in PIR, which turns on the light if a certain approach at night. PIR can often be adjusted to three things - the level of light to which they start working, how long they stay on (typically 20 seconds to 10 minutes) and sometimes the sensitivity or the beach on which they work (usually April-December meters). They are usually physically adjustable, so they can respond more low, to reduce the range, and side to provide coverage to certain areas. They are more sensitive to the approach of the person in their detection zone from right to them.
When choosing a site, they should be at least 2.5 m above the ground, so they are not easily tampered with, well away from any heat source, as an exhaust gas central heating and their detection zone should not include a road to the end of the property.
Many RIPs have a facility over-ride, so that light can be lit up to 8 hours continuously.

light bulbs are to be avoided, because some do not last long and can reduce the life of the PIR, and they do not reach full brightness immediately, which is desirable in light security.
Projectors may cause a nuisance to neighbors, If they shine on their property, particularly through the windows, so that their observation and adjustment should be taken into account. They can usually be adjusted regardless of the PIR to keep pointing down, away from the property of others peoples.
PIR lights must be wired through a switching spur merger, so they can be isolated for maintenance, like changing bulb.
Dusk to Dawn Lighting
Instead of a PIR, these lights are generally manufactured in cells photocells, which starts at dusk and they stay all night until dawn. Because they are over long periods, most use low energy light bulbs. These do not give as strong light projectors. Some light bulbs were manufactured in photcell, so they can be put into every item that is large enough to take them. If you use these, make sure the photocell is exposed to light and not obscured by the light, otherwise it will come in the day.
Ordinary Lights Switched external
These include projectors without RIP and any other form of lighting.
There are several ways they can be set to turn in security lighting.
1. Use an ordinary light switch to activate them manually. May be useful for the light of convenience, but useless if you're not there to activate.
2. Using a PIR. Stand Alone PIR can be used to turn on the light. It will be wiring from light to NIR. This is useful if the light is better situated away from the detection zone. What is said above about PIR applies here. External RIPs are often better than those constructed. Some have a detection area 360degrees, but only a maximum of 180deg. is necessary if it is mounted on a wall.
3. Using a external photocell.
4. Using a time switch. The easiest way is to use a plug-in timer. They are cheap and easy to use. The light is equipped with power outlet, which plugs into the timer. This can be adjusted to the light to go on and off what is that the timer is set. If the light is off, the timer must be either inside or in a raincoat water outlet box outside.
5. The aid of a socket random switching. It is mainly used for indoor use, and gives the impression that some outsders person in the house switching lights.
6. By using a keychain remote. Radio contolled projector is turned on remotely using a transmitter fob small key. This can be stored on a keychain and operated from a car, or, say, a bedroom, to turn on an external projector.
