Would you really like to have your guests appreciate your gift, rather than them tossing it away after they leave your reception?
Weddings are expensive. That's why you - like most couples - are probably looking for ways to save some money on your wedding favors. However, you also want something that reflects your personality and your theme, looks good, and doesn't make you appear "cheap" to your wedding guests.
That's why bookmarks are the perfect gift idea.
Think about it. You have creative license to design them in numerous ways, making them as plain or ornate as you'd like, without blowing your wedding budget.
Bookmarks are: easy to create and print; they make a wonderful keepsake item for your guests; they're very affordable; and you can design them to perfectly suit any wedding theme.
How much easier could it be?
Let's face it, nearly everyone uses bookmarks - whether they love reading novels or need to mark their spot in a text book or business report - so they're a very practical favor idea too!
You can easily personalize them with your own photos, a simple graphic, or a picture related to your theme. On one side of the bookmark put your names and wedding date, while on the other side add a personalized poem, verse or quote. One couple included a poem that was read during their marriage ceremony.
Now you've created a beautiful gift that your guests can use and enjoy for years to come.
You can print the bookmarks on heavy card stock (bought cheaply from an office supply store) using a laser or ink jet printer. You can easily print four bookmarks per sheet and use a paper cutter to cut them.
As an alternative, you can also purchase packages of pre-scored bookmark kits. Instructions are usually included on how to set up your page for printing these out so everything fits properly on each sheet.
If you're willing to spend a little bit more money, you can also have them laminated at a print shop and perhaps add a tassel or colored ribbon to the top. I've seen some bookmarks that include a small charm token attached to the ribbon as well.
Here's another wonderful idea to really personalize your wedding favor. If you're making your own bookmarks, then take the time to add each guest's first name to the top or bottom of the bookmark. They will be absolutely delighted!
