Design: Featuring a smooth plastic housing, the Sony DVP-FX930 comes in black, white, pink and blue. Weighing it at 2.7 pounds the player is quite sturdy with the battery running along the entire bottom of the player. The 9-inch screen can be swiveled and flipped so it looks like a tablet or you can view it at an angle. The controls are located below the screen. The light-touch buttons are responsive while the more commonly used four-way directional buttons are the normal variety. The remote control is also responsive thanks to the two IR sensors on the player.
Specifications: Thanks to its impressive swivel and flip capable 9-inch 800x480 pixel high resolution screen the Sony DVP-FX930 is a very versatile portable DVD player. Connection-wise the player offers dual headphone jacks and a video in/out port (composite AV). Sony have bundled a breakout cable as well as well as a car charger in addition to the standard charger. The player offers playback for MP3 files and JPEG photos burned to discs on top of the usual CD and DVD formats as well as support for DVD-R media.
Features & Performance: Video quality for both CDs and DVDs is top-notch, impressive for such a small portable DVD player. Thanks to its extra connections, the player can be stationary as well and should be more than enough if you're stuck in a hotel room with a TV and nothing good on. The Sony DVP-FX930's battery life is equally impressive as it lasts the full 6 hours on a single charge. All in all, the Sony DVP-FX930 is an excellent portable DVD player for movie watchers on the move. While its 2.7 pound weight may make it a bit heavy for most people its excellent 6 hour battery life more than makes up for it. Video quality is great as far as DVDs go and with support for DVD-R media, MP3s and JPEGs, you can burn your own media to disc and still view it on the player's versatile high-resolution 9-inch screen.
