List Organizer

It's that time of year, and sooner or later we must all make decisions about holiday gifts. Over the years my family has simplified the process of gifts and tried to think of ideas out-of-the-box for a holiday less stressful, cheaper and more creative and fun. This year, I invites you to be more aware of the gifts you buy. Here are some points to keep in mind when jumping into the frenzy of shopping.
1. What are your values?
Before you start making a list of gift ideas, review your core values and take purchasing decisions from there. My core values are family, faith, honesty and compassion. When making decisions I use these values to keep me focused and true to who I am in the choice of gifts.
2. List
Approximately one month before the holidays, start making a list of friends and family you shop. What aspects of these people you want to encourage and increase. Just like a grocery list, via a list, you will save time, money and stress. Refer to the list modify if necessary and make the list until your finished shopping.
3. Think Green!
This year to make decisions that respect the environment is not only the "in" thing to do, but necessary. Is the purchase of a gift adds to the congestion of the recipient? The gift is useful? Is it made of eco-friendly material? Is recyclable?
4. Buy Service
This year buy a gift certificate for a service as a team cleaning, a professional organizer, or janitorial services. These gifts are not only useful, but for many of us need to have an a balanced lifestyle and healthy and happy. I met a young woman last week and she told me the best present she ever had as a bridegroom was a professional organizer to help her through her gifts and develop its new home. A grandmother has decided to give his grandchildren "time coupons" instead of gifts. She spent time individually with each grandchild to do the things they love most.
5. Gift Wrap
Instead of spending money on wrapping paper or gift bags will eventually be discarded and are not recyclable, here are a couple alternatives. Use the comics section of newspaper to wrap a gift for children or other section of the newspaper that is of interest to the recipient. Place the gift in a basket or box that can be reused later. It's like two gifts in one!
6. Exchange Group
Get together with friends or family, are part of the swap. Choose someone to host the party. Everyone make items such as clothing, household items, toys and jewelry (at least 8-10 points) they need not or you want to organize items by category everyone, serve food and drinks and start shopping! You get free shop and everything else can be given to charity.
This time of year when money is tight and the list of gifts is long, I remember a story I once heard. A husband and wife are both concerned that they can not afford to give gifts to holidays. One day the husband decides to sell his tools to buy a bar of his wife dressed for her Long black hair. At the same time, his wife decides to cut his hair short and use the money to buy him a leather case to hold all his tools .... you can imagine how it ends. I have always been touched by the story because it expressed the true spirit of gift, thoughtful, purposeful and certainly not useless.
