If marketing video becomes larger, I could get a hair cut and give up writing articles. Well, not joking. Truth is, the video marketing is huge and it will even Huger. However, some people do not seem to have any idea how long to make their videos. Well, this article will address this problem. I think you will find this interesting reading.
Here is a fact. Take it for what this applies to you. The attention span of the average person is about as long as a minute in New York. If you do not know what it is, go New York and see how long it takes people start honking at you once the light turns green and you still have not budged. We live in a fast-paced world and it will not slow anytime soon. But that still does not answer to the question of how long is too long for a video. Well, here response.
A video is too long when it loses the attention of whoever viewing.
Well, if this seems like a copout answer, it is not. Why? Let me ask you a question. Have you ever watched a video that was a good 20-30 minutes and each suspended word? I know I have. Some videos have long had literally glued to my seat. Conversely, have you ever watched a video that was less than two minutes and 20 seconds off than you were because you were bored? I know I ... Once more I say.
Now obviously these are the extremes, but I used these two extremes, to a point. It not the length of the video that is the problem. This is the content. If you have nothing interesting to say, people will get bored very fast. If you have something interesting to say and can keep people stuck using techniques such as the one I will illustrate shortly, you can keep people stuck for a very long time.
A great technique is to promise something that viewers will be revealed, but do it now. For example, say I started a video with the following line ...
"I'm Steven Wagenheim. In about one minute, I'll show you how you can take a simple 400 word article and make a film blossomed. But first, why is this something you even want to do? "
See what I did? I have hung in the presentation by saying at the outset what they will learn. This allows to suspend them until I actually get to that part.
Now, you do not want to keep people hanging for too long, but ... if you keep the introduction of this tactic throughout the video, you can keep people glued to it for a very long time.
And of course, there are other tactics as well as the change of scenes, angles of entry and so on.
Making Movies is a Art. On learning this art effectively, you can literally stop worrying about the length of your videos.
