Composition with Red, Yellow and Blue "was painted in 1930. It was then that Mondrian had begun to add a little color and brightness to his works. All his works, namely has shown a true devotion to simplicity, which is quite unusual in this time in the world of art. He also showed a good understanding of the balance through a combination of lines in his works which together created a multitude of forms of different sizes and proportions.
Between 1922 and 1929 he also painted simpler versions of Red Cross, Yellow and Blue composition. In subsequent years, he continued with his abstract style, but began to use more white in some, while in other He has developed more detailed models, such as in compositions such as New York City I, again using the color scheme of red, yellow, blue, plus the series Broadway Boogie Woogie, which came later 1942/1943.
He felt comfortable using this style of abstract art, which makes use of his sketching broad and "Red, Yellow and Blue" is perhaps one of his best known compositions, marking a central marker in his previous works simplistic, and his side more complex models.
Studying the work immediately before and immediately after "Red, Yellow and Blue "gives an indication of how the link between each Mondrian work together as part of a series, and while the beginning and the end of contrast clearly works against each other, changes from one to the next show, throughout the series, a clear and steady increase from beginning to end.
