First, your Start menu is the best version seen in the latest version of Windows. You can access your Start menu by clicking the Windows button at the bottom left of your screen. Once you click on your programs most frequently used are displayed in front of you. You can "pin" the programs of this menu by right-clicking and choosing "Add to Start Menu."
Go all your programs by clicking on "All Programs" on the bottom of the menu or simply type the program name in the search box. You will see buttons to all your files to the right of your menus. Your user folder will be there, and a link to documents, downloads and images. You can customize what appears by right-clicking next to your user image and choose "Properties", then click the "Menu Start "tab, then click" Customize ".
Then, take a look at your taskbar - the bar is along the bottom of your computer screen. All the programs you have open will be an icon displayed on the taskbar. The taskbar is greatly improved in Windows 7. Firstly, you can rearrange the icons in the order you want. Just click on them, hold the mouse button pressed and drag the icon anywhere you want.
If you have multiple windows open in a program, they will "stack" on top of another, looking a bit like a game of cards. When you click the battery icon, a small window pop up and show you an overview of each of your windows program so that you can choose the one you want. There will also be an "X" button so you can quickly close the ones you do not need open anymore. If you have music or a video game, the preview window controls for you!
Then the windows themselves. If you have a window in a small format and you want it maximized, just click on the top edge of the window with your mouse. Hold button your mouse and drag the window to the top of the screen. It maximizes automatically! Drag it back and return it to the size was.
Windows 7 makes the comparison of two documents or screens easy, too. Click on the top bar of the first window and drag the mouse until your point strikes the left side of your screen. It appears to fill half your screen. Use the same technique to Drag the second window on the right - I fill the other half of the screen to display side by side.
A final useful function in Windows 7 is a very small button in the bottom right of your screen. It looks like a small button on top of the taskbar. Click that, and all the windows on your screen to minimize so you can see the desktop. Click again, and you pop back to where they were.
