Buying a used mini excavator makes sense because they are versatile, easier to transport, use and store than the full sized models and because they last a very long time. Whether you are just driving by and see a mini excavator for sale sign or you are purposely looking around for the perfect model, you can find one that suits your needs, at the right price and with all of the right features.
There are many types of excavators from the Bobcat mini excavator, the Yanmar mini digger, the Hitachi mini excavator, the Kubota mini digger and the Takeuchi mini excavator. If you are not familiar with any of the brands, then do a little research so that you can tell if it will fulfill your business needs and if you will be able to easily repair it if a problem does arise. With some of the foreign made mini excavators and mini loaders, you might have problems getting the right replacement parts quickly and easily, making them a serious problem when you are in serious competition for a small number of jobs in your area. If you cannot bid on a job because your excavator is done, it is costing you even more than just the part and the cost of the repair. Never buy a machine without considering the ease or cost of its repair.
A mini loader can be more cost effective even if it adds a day or so to the total time for a small number of jobs that might be better served by a larger model. However, because they are smaller, they will be useful in far more applications than the larger ones. In fact, you might find that the number of jobs that you are using the larger excavators for is small in comparison to the number of times that you will call upon the mini excavator.
Finding an older mini machine can be as simple as heading down to the local heavy equipment dealer and looking at what they have taken in as trades as others trade up for larger models. In addition, rental companies may phase out certain machines from time to time, there are frequent large equipment auctions and you can research these locations online as well. Before buying a used mini excavator, especially at auction, make sure that you are thoroughly inspecting your choice so that you buy a machine that will fulfill maximum needs with minimum problems.
Make sure that no matter what type or brand name of mini digger that you buy, that proper maintenance and safety inspections are done on a regular basis so that your used machine will work well for many, many years to come. This should include checking the parts including the hydraulics. It should be standard practice to check your machinery before starting a job and upon finishing a job so that all potential problems are noted immediately and can be dealt with accordingly.

In fact, after the group's brief dissolution and inexplicable name change to Digger at the end of that decade, the band (now inextricably linked to charismatic frontman Chris Boltendahl) made an unexpected return to form in the '90s and has continued to deliver impressively consistent efforts ever since. The band's ninth studio album, the lavishly packaged but plainly titled The Grave Digger, doesn't buck this trend, offering a batch of tightly woven anthems representing the best elements of power metal. Boltendahl's alternately clean and dirty vocals combine with a rough and raw guitar attack to offset the album's more refined sonic accoutrements, such as chorused vocals, keyboards, and synths. Used sparingly and effectively, these provide the necessary colorings and support without interfering with the "meat" of the matter here: heavy metal. Thus, highlights like "Son of Evil," "King Pest," and "Haunted Palace" are propelled by a furious barrage of double kick drums and lightning staccato riffing in the best power metal tradition, and while it's easy to attack Grave Digger's more cliché-laden transgressions (culminating as expected in the overblown orchestration of the ballad "Silence"), the truth is that mid-paced numbers like "Scythe of Time" and the absolutely awesome Edgar Allen Poe-inspired "Raven" (note its stunning clean-riffing outro) are pure metal delights. All these are hardly reinventing the wheel, but they're performed with such conviction and disarming honesty that questioning their intentions is really just nasty and petty. In short, for a band that's never gotten much respect over the years Grave Digger's influence on the power metal genre is undeniable and, with its unassuming excellence, The Grave Digger is a perfect example why. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi |

Mud Digger, Vol. 2 $11.87 There’s always a debate going on about country, what it’s supposed to be or not supposed to be, whether it’s called traditional country or new country or rock and pop slipping south to impersonate country, as if there was an exact place and time (and sound) when country was, well, the most country. Meanwhile, underneath all this debate, artists like Colt Ford have been out there going to mud-bogging parties and realizing that just plain folks, country or otherwise, are listening to a lot of different kinds of music, from country to metal anthems to urban rap, and any and all of it could come blasting out of one of those trucks as it leaps and swerves through the mud -- it’s a weekend party and no one cares about the appropriateness of the music that’s playing; no one is saying, hey, you can’t like country and still like rap, or vice versa. Ford gets this, and his own brand of country/rap is hardly concerned with genre preservation so much as he’s trying to document what really goes on out there in the fields, mud bogs, and back roads of what passes for the country in the 21st century. You might hear George Jones -- but you’re just as likely, if not more likely, to hear 2Pac. Ford is also pretty good at marketing. He’s done a lot of things, including being a professional golfer at one time, and he knows a vibrant niche when he sees one. He’s also very good at what he does. This set is the second volume in his Mud Digger compilation series, and like the first, it mixes rock, country, and rap into a hybrid that could care less what it is as long as it sounds good coming out of a truck window and you can party to it. That’s at least one definition of country.
